born on July 1.1949 in Shimoda-City/Shizuoka-Pref./ Japan.
He finished his study on composition at "Tokyo-Gakugei Univ."and went to the master course of composition and conducting of the same Univ. He studied composition with Prof. S. Kai and Prof. S. Sumitani at that period. From 1977 to 1981 at the "Hochschule der Künste Berlin"(HdK) he studied composition with Prof. Isang Yun, Prof. Witold Szalonek and others. At the same time he studied and produced electronic and computer music at the electronic studio of the Technical Univ. Berlin (TU Studio Berlin).
His compositions are published by the Deutscher Verlag für Musik Leipzig (DVfM) in Germany and recorded by the Edition RZ (Robert Zank), Berlin.
He organizes concert series "MACHINERY IMPROVISATION"(1988,89), "Sound- Electro Media" with Composers of Electronic Music of Japan and Germany in Tokyo (1995).

He gave lectures in Japan, USA, Germany, France, Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong and other nations on computer music, combination with computer and traditional music and others.
His one of important activities is to show most possibilities of the creative music to children, and since 2014 he is assisting very young Japanese composers to present their music in and out of Japan, co-producing with the Project for Young Composers of the New York Philharmonic.
He is Professor emeritus of Fukushima University in Japan.
1949年静岡県下田市に生まれる。作曲を甲斐説宗、住谷智、柏木俊夫らに、指揮を伊藤栄一らに師事。1977年ドイツへ留学。ベルリン芸術大学にて作曲をイサン・ユンYun Isangに、対位法をM.バイヤー Michael Bayer、管弦楽法をW.シャロネック Witold Szalonek、ピアノをM.クラウゼ Martin Krauze、アナリーゼをD.シュネーベル Dieter Schnebel、指揮法および総譜奏法をD.ボルフ D.Worfに師事。
ゲバントハウス管弦楽団、DAAD、ISCM「世界音楽祭」や芙二現代舞踊団、日本舞踊西川宗家、及び洋楽器、邦楽器奏者などより作品を委嘱。
米ジョージア大学客員教授（00年）。ザールブリュッケン音楽祭（03年）、ドレスデン音楽祭（05年）、ブロツワフ音楽祭（06年）、北京国際電 子音楽祭（08年）、台湾国際電子音楽祭（09年）、ミュージック・フロム・ジャパン音楽祭（12年,ニューヨーク）、トンヨン国際音楽祭（13年、韓 国）などに参加。
ヴィニアフスキ国際作曲コンクール（80年、ポーランド）、ハンバッハ国際作曲賞(82年ドイツ)、ブールジェ国際電子音楽コンクール（96年フランス）入賞、文化庁舞台芸術創作奨励特別賞(98年、日本)他、受賞。
国 際現代音楽協会ISCM世界音楽祭（82年グラーツ／オーストリア、88年香港、93年メキシコシティ／メキシコ、2016年トンヨン／韓国）、アジア音 楽祭（82年香港、86年ソウル、91年フィリピン、99年横浜）、コンピュータ音楽国際会議ICMC（88年ケルン、93年東京、96年香港）他入選。
コンピュータ音楽国際会議ICMC東京大会（93年）音楽委員長、国際作曲コンクール審査委員（96年香港 他）、文部科学省大学設置審議会専門委員（音楽・指揮、2002〜04年）を勤める。
作品のLP、CDが日本をはじめ、アメリカ、ドイツ、メキシコ、フランス、スイス各国で出版。ブライトコップ＆ヘルテル社、F.ホフマイスター社、等より楽譜出版。
2012年「JFCアジア音楽祭」（東京）において、自作品発表のため、東京フィルハーモニー交 響楽団を指揮。2013年よりニューヨーク・フィルとの子供の創作教育プログラムで連携。2015年福島市内の小中学生とともにニューヨーク・フィルハー モニー管弦楽団に招かれ、リンカーン・センターにて子どもたちとの共同作品を指揮。また、16年には、ふたば未来学園高校音楽部の生徒たちとともに同楽団 に招かれ、ニューヨークで合同コンサートを行うなど、青少年のための作曲指導を通じた国際交流を行っている。
現在、福島大学名誉教授。福島大学附属中学元校長。ふくしま第九の会副理事長。福島オペラ協会理事（前理事長）。日本作曲家協議会、日本現代音楽協会会員。
